A shot I took this afternoon.

I tried to give it an antique look but it's up to you to tell me whether the concept works or not.

Lucky bastard living in a beautiful country! :P

And finally a photo from you that's not black&white -- and a good one, too! :)

What tells you this county is beautiful? The largest bit of the land has so far been used to build stuff upon. Hm. Not quite my idea of beauty, but still.

Don't get me wrong. I love black and white. But at times, colour has it's purpose. Thank you for the compliment though.

Cheers

Wide open fields, rolling hills, wooden shacks from a simpler time long ago, trees, little patches of forest, and that golden glow, as if longing for the past.

That picture is poetic, mate!

Heh, thank you. :) But I reckon that in essence it is not the picture, but the mood the viewer is in which makes or doesn't make the picture poetic.

Beautiful shot...the only drawback is your sky, it appears to have been washed out (most likely because it looks that way in reality) but there doesn't seem to be anything you can really do with it to make much of a difference. :(

The overall effect though is really breathtaking! Nice layout!

Well, you see, the sky has been subjected to the same filters then the rest of the picture. I tried to "wash" the colours out artificially, so as to make the picture look older. It seems to not have worked quite the way it should but it is the best I could do. About the sky, look at the difference in coloration between the left side and the right side of the sky.

Thank you for the note on effect and layout, but I have only taken the picture and worked on it for a bit. The rest is all done by mother earth herself.

Thank you for your comment though, you may not yet know how important they are to me.

Cheers

Do me a favor if you can, I'd love to see the original piece if you can post it...

And yes, mother earth has much to do with that photo, indeed...but true art is not finding a beautiful woman and taking her picture.

True art is taking the picture, and finding a beautiful woman.

Oh, I will. But you'll have to wait till Christmas I am afraid. I'm only going to be back home by then - and I've stored the original picture on my "home home" machine.
